USHERS
Job Description:
Usher's team welcomes, and directs first time visitors, members, and guests. This team is responsible for the inside of the sanctuary starting from the entry doors. Ushers responsibilities include seating, collecting offerings, directing visitors to restrooms, kids classrooms, etc. Usher’s team helps make church services safe and enjoyable for everyone.
Responsibilites:
Stands at the church’s entryway and greets church visitors as they arrive.Escort individuals to their seats or direct them to empty seats in the sanctuary. Make sure everyone is seated next to someone and nobody is sitting alone. Help those who need special seating or accommodations. Collect offering at the appointed time during the service.Keeps the entry area clean and clear of debris and clutter. Makes introductions between new visitors and regular church members by seasons of life.
Skills:
A “people person,” enjoy’s initiating conversations with visitors and friends alike.
Able to help organize the church seating area.
Know the church layout and be able to give directions to visitors to the kids classrooms, nursery, and restrooms.
Willing to take on additional responsibilities as they come available.
Pleasant, courteous, and friendly, able to start up conversations naturally and easily.
Able to bridge connections between members and visitors.
Responsible as there will be some money-handling.
Time:
Required to serve at least once service a month. Recommended to serve every other week and sit one serve one.
GREETERS
Job Description:
A greeter has the unique opportunity of making a first impression on behalf of the church by welcoming those who are entering. A greeter is an essential part of the worship experience. Greeters help prepare people’s hearts to grow closer to God by reminding them that they matter and that our church is so glad they are here! Go the extra mile. Thank those attending for being at church!
Responsibilities:
Stand at the side entrance of the church for 10 minutes before service begins. Smile and be ready to say hello and welcome people, learn names if possible. Familiarize yourself with church resources, events, classes, etc.Be willing to help guests, answer questions and give direction. Know the church layout and be able to give directions to visitors to kids classrooms, nursery, restrooms, etc.
Skills:
A heart for people.
Church greeters should have a friendly disposition, a willingness to be outgoing, and proactive.
Friendly and positive attitude.
Able to interact with a wide variety of people.
Time:
Required to serve at least one service a month. Recommended to serve every other week and sit one serve one.
PARKING
Job Description
Our Sunday worship experience actually begins in the parking lot. The parking team has the unique opportunity to make a positive impression on our regular attendees as well as first time guests. Parking lot team is the first to extend a warm, friendly welcome. You are a very important first impression of our church.
Responsibilities
Protect the safety of our pedestrians by being aware of surroundings. Manage the flow of traffic by ushering cars into spaces in a safe manner. Make sure the handicapped parking areas are kept free to help vehicles with “handicapped parking permits” find their reserved spots. Assist the elderly and anyone else who requires assistance with church entry as needed. Offer to provide an umbrella to visitors who might need it. Know where the entrance and check-in for Kids Ministry, restrooms etc.are so you can give directions or information concerning them.
